ABOUT US
Illinois Right to Life Action is the legislative and political advocacy arm of Illinois Right to Life. As a 501(c)(4) organization, we exist for one purpose: to advance public policies that protect the lives of the unborn, the vulnerable, and their families in the Illinois General Assembly.
Founded in 2017, Illinois Right to Life Action was created when Illinois Right to Life acquired Illinois Citizens for Life—a historic pro-life organization that spent decades defending life in Springfield. By bringing together the educational work of Illinois Right to Life with the legislative expertise of Illinois Citizens for Life, Illinois Right to Life Action became the state's premier pro-life advocacy organization focused exclusively on influencing public policy and elections.
Today, our work extends far beyond simply tracking legislation. We monitor thousands of bills and amendments introduced each legislative session, educate lawmakers on life issues, mobilize grassroots advocates across Illinois, and build coalitions to stop harmful legislation before it becomes law. We also work proactively to advance policies that strengthen protections for mothers, children, patients, people with disabilities, and every vulnerable human life.
Our advocacy doesn't end at the Capitol. Through voter education, public affairs, grassroots organizing, digital advocacy, and strategic communications, we equip Illinois citizens with the information and tools they need to make their voices heard and hold elected officials accountable.
Illinois has become one of the most hostile states in the nation toward the protection of human life. Reversing that reality will require more than passion—it requires a disciplined, long-term strategy, relentless advocacy, and an engaged grassroots movement.
That is why Illinois Right to Life Action exists.
Together with thousands of pro-life Illinoisans, we are working to build a state where every human life is welcomed, valued, and protected.
